Full Day Extra Session

This is a new session option we’re trialling at The Hill for the two days it’s running over the Christmas period – the trial will not be taking place at Waterloo Meadows. This session allows parents to drop off their child at 8:15am, and collect their child at 5:45pm. As a result of this new session, we have created a related fine schedule for collections after 5:45pm (see below).
Fine Schedule: If the collection takes place after 5:45pm the fees will go up by £5.00 per child for each additional 10 minute period.
The cost of this session is £22.00. If the trial of this session type is successful, then it may be become a permanent option for all our holiday playclubs from February Half Term 2017.

Guidance for online booking system can be found by clicking here, or under 'Documents' on the Reading Play homepage. By using this booking system, you do not need to complete the usual registration and booking forms, as the online system covers everything in these forms. However, if your child requires additional support, the the Additional Support Form will need to be completed and emailed to reading.play@reading.gov.uk.

We can accept completed Booking Forms that have been scanned and sent to us via email, these need to be sent to the usual address: reading.play@reading.gov.uk. Please note that we can only accept emailed booking forms during the pre-booking period only.

Pre-bookings close at 5:00pm on Friday 16th December so please ensure we receive your booking form and payment by this date to avoid disappointment. If you do not receive confirmation within seven days of sending your booking, please contact us to ensure your booking has been received and processed.

Play in Schools

We are able to offer a wide selection of activities, whether targeted or universal to help promote all types of play and improve behaviour and the overall school environment.

In the last year we have worked in a large amount of Reading school's for a huge variety of reasons, which puts us an ideal place to meet and exceed your requirements and expectations. One of our most popular services is the SEN support package, which is built around the hours of support you will receive from us, rather than a set time slot. The duration of our packages are entirely flexible to suite your needs, whether you need support for just one term, 12 weeks, or the full school year.

Please ensure that you purchase your items as soon as you can via our Reading Education Services page (details below), as we have limited spaces available for certain packages being offered this year. We will remove the buying option on services that we feel have reached their capacity.

You can learn more about the benefits of play in schools through the Developing Play in Schools report by Brunel University.

Benefits

  • Increased physical activity for your pupils
  • Improved pupil behaviour
  • Personal, social and emotional skill development
  • Team building skills
  • Sports coaching
  • Outdoor learning experiences
  • Behaviour management in and outside of the classroom environment
