Supply Playworker

Location: Various schools and settings within Reading Borough. Prospect Park, The Outpost, After School Clubs, and Holiday Playclubs

Directorate: Environment and Neighbourhood Services

Grade/Salary Range: RG2 pay scale 11 - £15,807 per annum (hourly rate of £8.19)

Working Pattern: This is a casual role (as and when required).

Job Description

  • To offer play experiences and activities within a variety of different settings, including Children centres, PVI’s and school settings.
  • To enable children to access play opportunities designed to encourage children and young people to take up enjoyable, positive, healthy and safe activities within their communities
  • Increase the number of children and young people playing outside by providing outdoor play opportunities in parks and open spaces in target areas for children and young people aged 0-13.
  • Engage children in schools through creative play and new ways of learning through the medium of play.

Positions are available to support the running of school playtime sessions, SEN support, sports coaching, PPA support, after school clubs, holiday playclubs, and 0-5 sessions.

A DBS check is required for this post, safeguarding training will be provided on induction. An NVQ in Playwork is desirable but not essential. A full driving license and ability to travel would also be an advantage.
